Mario Sznol, MD Joins Medical Oncology

Yale Cancer Center is pleased to welcome Mario Sznol, MD as a member of the section of Medical Oncology. He is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed his fellowship training in medical oncology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Sznol was a Senior Investigator and subsequently Head of the Biologics Evaluation Section of the Investigational Drug Branch at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Also at the NCI, Dr. Sznol attended on the inpatient/outpatient services of the Biological Response Modifiers Program and the Immunotherapy Service of the Surgery Branch. Most recently he was Vice President for Clinical Affairs and Executive Officer at Vion Pharmaceuticals in New Haven, CT.

Dr. Sznol’s expertise and experience is in cancer immunotherapy, early drug development for cancer, and treatment of patients with melanoma and renal cell carcinoma. He is working to further develop the clinical research program for patients with melanoma by expanding the opportunities for clinical trials at Yale Cancer Center, particularly those focusing on immunotherapy and novel agents.
