New Haven, CT - The New Haven Register has announced plans to post satellite phone dispatches, phoned in by Connecticut Mountaineer Lew Nescott Jr., during his benefit climb of Alaska's 20,320 foot Mount McKinley starting June 25th.

The specially-designed, interactive site, which may be accessed through the Register's main web portal at www.nhregister.com, will also include information on high-altitude mountaineering as well as the latest news on breast cancer prevention and research. Each day during the climb, a breast cancer survivor will be profiled on the site offering her own story of struggle and hope.

The Register's State and City Editor, Helen Bennett Harvey, said that, "The recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer are a major story that warrants the attention of all our readers. Lew's climb of Mount McKinley is both an athletic and human interest piece that helps us understand what it may be like on the other end to witness a family member or friend battle the disease."

The 2008 Mount McKinley Breast Cancer Climb, which is expected to last 18-22 days, will honor the courage of survivors, and the memory of those before them, by raising vital funds for state-of-the-art breast cancer research underway at Yale Cancer Center.
