New Haven, Conn.-  Trailblazer, a Connecticut-based specialty retailer that features outdoor and running products, recently held a special event at their New Haven store to give 10% of their proceeds from to the Yale Cancer Center Breast Cancer Research Program.  The successful event raised $1,100 to support the 2008 Mount McKinley Breast Cancer Climb.

Trailblazer is the sole corporate sponsor of the 2008 Mount McKinley Breast Cancer Climb by Lew Nescott Jr., a Connecticut mountaineer and Senior Research Analyst at Yale University.  Lew will leave on June 25th to climb Mount McKinley in support of breast cancer research at Yale.

“I am very thankful for Trailblazer's incredible support.  Without their help, this climb would not be possible,” Lew said after the event.  In addition to Lew, Peter Lamothe, Director of Development at Yale Cancer Center and Todd Raskin and Chris Howe, both partners of Trailblazer, were in attendance at the event. Kicking off the day, Trailblazer presented Lew with the equipment they generously donated for his climb.

Lew is climbing to raise funds to support breast cancer research and to honor the courage of cancer survivors, and the memory of those before them.
