Smilow Update

Building Progress

430 construction workers are diligently working to complete different areas of the new hospital. The glass is in place in the front lobby, and a canopy will go up in the next two weeks to highlight the main entrance. Cabinetry is being moved into the basement and levels 1, 2, and 3, where the ceilings are also being finished. Installation of the exterior sidewalks and planters is also in progress.

Shared Resource Highlight

Rapid Case Ascertainment

The mission of the Rapid Case Ascertainment (RCA) Shared Resource is to provide services to population researchers at Yale Cancer Center, the State of Connecticut, and other institutions, building on the unique relationship with the Connecticut Tumor Registry. Some of the many services the RCA performs include timely identification of newly diagnosed cancer cases in Connecticut, obtaining and maintaining Institutional Review Board approvals, collecting pathology specimens from hospitals, and collecting other data as needed.
