Lawrence R. Solomon is a clinician who sees patients for the adult palliative care service. This includes assistance with the management of pain and other symptoms related to progressive and potentially life-threatening disorders such as cancer, advanced lung diseases, advanced heart diseases, neurologic diorders and advanced liver diseases. He received his medical degree from New York University; completed residency training in internal medicine at Yale University and the University of Washington; and fellowship training in hematology at the University of Washington. He also spent 2 years in basic science research at the National Institutes of Health. Prior to returning to Yale, he served as medical director of the Connecticut Hospice for 3 years. In addition to patient care, he is involved in clinical research involving vitamin B12 and palliative care, and he participates in teaching programs for medical students, residents and fellows.
