What is the purpose of this trial?

Phase II: The primary aim of the study is to develop an effect size estimate for smoking cessation with contingency management for biochemically confirmed 7-day point prevalence abstinence during the last week of treatment prior to surgery.

Phase III: To examine changes in serum bilirubin and skin carotenoids after smoking cessation
