In Richard Carr’s role as Senior Administrative Assistant at Yale Cancer Center, he supports the Department of Hematology.
Richard’s job entails managing calendars, travel, and administrative tasks such as making copies, putting together binders, and assisting with department functions when needed. Richard has twelve years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, and half of that time has been spent working in the medical field at places like Proctor and Gamble, in their pharmaceutical division, Bayer, and Biotech. He has been at Yale for a year and a half.
“At some point everyone’s life is affected by cancer, and knowing that the small things I do each day may make a difference in some way is very rewarding,” said Richard.
Richard serves as the eyes and ears of the Hematology Department and makes sure things are running smoothly. He explained that each day he is presented with some new challenge and that is one of the things he enjoys about his job. Dr. Dhodapkar commented, “Richard has an exceptional work ethic. He always has a smile on his face and a “can do” attitude coupled with remarkable organizational skills. He is always willing to help out, pays attention to detail and is extremely reliable.”
