“What is the Microbiome and How Does it Make me Happy?” Presented by Joan Palmer, MS

In this interactive workshop, educator Joan Palmer will help participants discover how diet and lifestyle can build microbial health that is both advantageous and delicious. She will explain probiotics versus prebiotics and share lists of foods that provide the “good” gut bacteria as well as those to avoid.

Joan Palmer is the founder, director and an instructor at The Institute of Sustainable Nutrition. She has a master’s in human nutrition, a bachelors in education and is certified as a family/community herbalist. Joan teaches The Art and Science of Eating at The Graduate Institute and Food As Medicine at Quinnipiac University.
