Inner Beauty, Knowing and Kindness

- 00:03Grand licensed massage therapist at
- 00:05Smilow Cancer Hospital and I thank
- 00:07you so much for joining today in
- 00:10a session of guided meditation.
- 00:13As we close out this year and
- 00:15look forward to the new year.
- 00:18This is a nice time just to
- 00:20sort of set an intention for.
- 00:22Maybe one thing we definitely want to
- 00:25let go of and something we definitely
- 00:28want to maybe manifest for the new year.
- 00:31So it's not something you need to do right
- 00:33now at the beginning of this session,
- 00:35but just to think about over the next
- 00:38couple of days before January 1st.
- 00:40Then just put that out there for yourself.
- 00:44So for today to begin.
- 00:46Just bring yourself into
- 00:48a comfortable position.
- 00:49Just shift your weight so
- 00:52you're allowing your body to be
- 00:54fully supported with your head,
- 00:56your neck,
- 00:57and your spine aligned.
- 01:03Take a couple of deep cleansing breaths.
- 01:07Inhaling as fully as you comfortably can.
- 01:13And sending the warm energy of your
- 01:16breath to any part of your body that
- 01:19may be tense or tight right now.
- 01:24An release the disc discomfort you
- 01:26may feel on your exhale so that
- 01:29you can feel your breath going
- 01:31to all the tight, tense places.
- 01:35Just start to loosen and soften them.
- 01:40And then gathering up all the tension.
- 01:44And again, just breathing it
- 01:47out so that more and more of you
- 01:51can feel safe and comfortable.
- 01:54Relaxed and easy. Just watching
- 01:59the cleansing action of the breath.
- 02:01With a friendly but detached awareness.
- 02:08Anne, any unwelcome thoughts
- 02:10or feelings you might have?
- 02:12Those two are sent out with the breath.
- 02:16So that inside you can still be quiet.
- 02:21Like a Lake. With no ripples.
- 02:29And now, imagining a place
- 02:32either inside or outdoors,
- 02:34where you feel safe and peaceful and easy.
- 02:40A place either make, believe or real.
- 02:44Could be a place from your past.
- 02:47Or maybe somewhere that
- 02:48you've always wanted to go.
- 02:50It doesn't matter.
- 02:52Just so that it's a place that feels
- 02:55good and safe and peaceful to you.
- 03:02Now allowing the place to become
- 03:06real to you. Looking around you.
- 03:09Taking the place in with your eyes.
- 03:13Enjoying the colors. This scenery.
- 03:19Appreciating every detail with your eyes.
- 03:24Looking over to your right.
- 03:28Over to your left.
- 03:33And listening to the sounds of the place.
- 03:37The music of moving wind or water.
- 03:41Birds or crickets.
- 03:43Soft, nice night sounds.
- 03:46Perhaps this steady thundering of
- 03:50Wayne on the roof. It doesn't matter.
- 03:54Just so your ears can enjoy
- 03:56the sounds of your place.
- 03:59That is so safe.
- 04:01And peaceful to you.
- 04:06And feeling whatever you were
- 04:08sitting against or lying upon.
- 04:11Or perhaps feeling the quality
- 04:13of the ground beneath your feet.
- 04:16Whether it's sand or pine needles or grass.
- 04:21Or you might be in a cozy arm chair.
- 04:25Or sitting on a nice warm rock in the sun.
- 04:32And feeling the air on your skin,
- 04:35either brisk and breezy. Or soft and still.
- 04:42Crisp and dry Bonnie Ann what?
- 04:48Or perhaps you're indoors feeling the warmth
- 04:52of a cozy fire on your face and hands.
- 04:59Or maybe you're outdoors and there's
- 05:02just the subtilis caress of a fragrant,
- 05:06gentle breeze. So just enjoying the
- 05:11feel of the place. On your skin.
- 05:17And as you become more and more attuned
- 05:20to the safety and beauty of this place,
- 05:23building thankful and happy to be there.
- 05:27You begin to feel a kind of tingling.
- 05:31A pleasant energizing something
- 05:33in the air all around you.
- 05:37Something that contains expectancy,
- 05:40an excitement.
- 05:42A sense that something is wonderful.
- 05:45Is going to be happening anytime soon.
- 05:50And you look out in front of you.
- 05:54And you begin to discern there
- 05:56is a kind of transparent screen,
- 05:58shimmering there.
- 06:00It gets more and more opaque and solid.
- 06:04As you look at it.
- 06:08And as you watch the screen with
- 06:11a kind of peaceful curiosity,
- 06:14you gradually become aware of a
- 06:17form beginning to appear on it.
- 06:20Becoming more and more defined.
- 06:25Ann, you realize that this is the
- 06:27form of a very special someone.
- 06:33Perhaps it is someone who
- 06:35loved you well from your past.
- 06:39Maybe a special guide or teacher?
- 06:42A parent or grandparent.
- 06:46And maybe someone who once loved you
- 06:50very much or someone in your life still.
- 06:55It could be an Angel or spirit or
- 06:58special power animal, doesn't matter.
- 07:02Just so it's someone or something that you
- 07:07know is good and wise and kind and loving.
- 07:12With the ability to see from the
- 07:15heart into the truth of things deeply.
- 07:19I'm clearly.
- 07:25So you watch as this special
- 07:28someone or something becomes more
- 07:31and more defined on the screen.
- 07:33Until the three dimensional
- 07:37image is quite clear.
- 07:40In whatever characteristic posture they have,
- 07:44wearing whatever it is that they wear,
- 07:47doing whatever it is that they do.
- 07:52Crisp and clear.
- 07:53In every dimension.
- 08:02And you can softly and
- 08:04easily enter the screen,
- 08:06fill yourself drawn to them.
- 08:09Wanting to have a closer look.
- 08:13Undetected by them you can slip
- 08:16into the screen safely and easily.
- 08:20Able to have a slow,
- 08:23respectful walk around them.
- 08:26Seeing them from every angle.
- 08:30The expression on the face.
- 08:35The profile. I'm back.
- 08:41And sensing the feel of the air around them.
- 08:45This special energy surrounding them.
- 08:51The sounds of the breathing or their voice.
- 08:57The scent of the air around them.
- 09:02So just slowly moving around them.
- 09:06Please do experience a full.
- 09:09Which sensory awareness of them.
- 09:16Anne now. In the magical
- 09:19safe space of this screen,
- 09:21somehow for just a short while.
- 09:25Sliding past the boundaries and slipping
- 09:28into the body of this other being.
- 09:31Entering this other body and breathing
- 09:34with their breath for just a while.
- 09:42And if there is any resistance to doing this,
- 09:46just gently noting it and allowing
- 09:49yourself to soften all around it.
- 09:52For the sake of understanding more
- 09:56and learning what you need to know.
- 10:01Just an experiment.
- 10:05Breathing their breath.
- 10:06Looking down and seeing this other body,
- 10:10perhaps other hands or feet or clothing.
- 10:16Breathing deeply into this other being.
- 10:20I'm sensing the feelings, whatever they are.
- 10:29Perhaps a sense of warmth and peace and calm.
- 10:35Or a soft expansion around the heart, maybe
- 10:39a solid steady sense of safety and security.
- 10:43Whatever feelings are sensations just
- 10:46experiencing what it feels like in
- 10:50the chest and belly in the muscles.
- 10:53Skin and bone. Staying open and curious as
- 10:58to how it feels inside this other body.
- 11:03And seeing out from their eyes.
- 11:07What the world looks like.
- 11:11Sounds like. Feels like.
- 11:14As you breathe with their breath.
- 11:19Feel with their feelings.
- 11:22Soft and easy.
- 11:25Feeling their heart beating
- 11:28inside you steady. Ancom
- 11:36and perhaps even seeing you over there
- 11:40with these other eyes looking over
- 11:43at you and seeing who you really are.
- 11:46Looking under around and
- 11:49through your surface.
- 11:51To the absence of who you really are.
- 11:56And seeing all the hidden splendor.
- 11:59All the vast beauty of your being.
- 12:07And perhaps seeing what you are
- 12:10here to do with all your unique
- 12:13gifts and special abilities.
- 12:16Appreciating what you were born to do.
- 12:19In your own way. In your own time.
- 12:28And so just taking a moment to
- 12:31experience this gently and easily with
- 12:34all the focus you can bring to bear.
- 12:47And now very softly and easily.
- 12:51Whenever you're ready.
- 12:54Wishing this body this awareness
- 12:57goodbye in whatever way feels right.
- 13:02I'm still infused with the
- 13:04richness of this experience,
- 13:06still feeling the expanded
- 13:08energy in your heart.
- 13:11Very gently moving back into your own body.
- 13:16We inhabiting it fully and easily.
- 13:20Reading into it with your own breath.
- 13:25Through your own nose and mouth.
- 13:30Back home
- 13:33Connect it again to your body.
- 13:37Your steady's companion
- 13:38and your oldest friend.
- 13:44And sliding out of the magical
- 13:47translucent screen and.
- 13:48Once again, see yourself in your safe
- 13:52and peaceful special surroundings.
- 13:54Again, taking in its beautiful sights.
- 13:57And sounds and smells. Anne, watching.
- 14:03As the screen fades away.
- 14:06And feeling yourself in your chair.
- 14:11Breathing. Very rhythmically and easily,
- 14:15very gently and with soft eyes.
- 14:20Allow yourself to come back
- 14:23into the room wherever you are.
- 14:26And whenever you're ready.
- 14:30Knowing in a deep place you are
- 14:33better for this. And so you are.
- 14:40And if your eyes are closed.
- 14:42Open your eyes.
- 14:46Premier shoulders downward
- 14:49Elevate your neck and head.
- 14:53Stretch your arms out as far as
- 14:56you can to the left and the right.
- 15:00And with a big inhalation arms overhead.
- 15:06And down into prayer pose.
- 15:13So I hope that was a pleasant and
- 15:17positive experiencing for you.
- 15:18Just connecting with somebody
- 15:20who you expect in love,
- 15:22who you know respects and loves you back,
- 15:25and always remembering that
- 15:27this is your pure essence.
- 15:29This sense of peace and beauty,
- 15:31and a knowledge that you're
- 15:34here for an important reason.
- 15:37So with that I wish you all
- 15:40very very very happy New year.
- 15:42Much peace,
