  • 00:00Hello I'm doctor Maryam Lustberg,
  • 00:03chief of Breast medical oncology and
  • 00:06director of the Breast Center at Yale.
  • 00:09I treat all types of breast cancer.
  • 00:13My practice is very,
  • 00:15very much patient centered.
  • 00:17I believe the patient physician relationship
  • 00:20is a partnership and and I want to
  • 00:24assure my patients that their values,
  • 00:27goals and wishes are are my top priority.
  • 00:31Patients need to feel safe to ask questions.
  • 00:34If something is not clear,
  • 00:36no one patient is the same.
  • 00:38So uhm, you know what might work
  • 00:40for one may not work for others.
  • 00:43So so really taking the moment
  • 00:45to slow down and listen to.
  • 00:48Questions and wishes.
  • 00:49I think that that's number one.
  • 00:52Come to to to to to really make a difference
  • 00:55in personalizing these treatment plans.
  • 00:58Due to advances in clinical
  • 01:00trials we we surely have better
  • 01:03treatments over the last five years
  • 01:06for all types of breast cancer,
  • 01:09but we also have a long ways to go.
  • 01:13There's continued initiatives to
  • 01:15focus on on targeting different
  • 01:18types of breast cancers and really
  • 01:21having better tailored treatments
  • 01:23for each type of breast cancer.
  • 01:25Another another advance has
  • 01:27been greater engagement.
  • 01:29With our with our patient partners
  • 01:32so greater advocacy efforts have
  • 01:35really led the way to to make sure
  • 01:38that the way we deliver Breast
  • 01:41Cancer Care is truly a partnership.
