MyChart Update for Android

  • 00:03one of the technology trainers at Yale,
  • 00:05New Haven Health and Yale Medicine.
  • 00:07This video guide will show you how
  • 00:09to download, configure and use my
  • 00:11chart for the purpose of video visits,
  • 00:13let's go ahead and get started.
  • 00:17Before we begin, you will need to
  • 00:19have a my chart account with Yale,
  • 00:21New Haven Health, and Yale Medicine.
  • 00:23If you do not have a my chart account,
  • 00:26please contact your provider
  • 00:28or visit my chart. YNH s.org.
  • 00:30Please note that it is recommended
  • 00:32that you download the my chart and
  • 00:35zoom apps in order for video visits to
  • 00:38work properly on your Android device.
  • 00:40Please do not use my chart to send any
  • 00:43messages requiring urgent medical attention.
  • 00:46For urgent needs, please contact your
  • 00:50provider's office or emergency services.
  • 00:53To download my chart,
  • 00:54open the Google Play store on your
  • 00:57Android device by tapping on the icon.
  • 00:59Tap the search window and type my chart.
  • 01:02My chart will return as a search result,
  • 01:06tap my chart to continue.
  • 01:09To ensure you have the correct
  • 01:11Mychart app for Yale,
  • 01:12New Haven Health and Yale Medicine,
  • 01:14look for an icon showing a red
  • 01:16folder with a heart.
  • 01:18Tap install to install
  • 01:20my chart on your device.
  • 01:23Now that my chart has downloaded onto your
  • 01:25device, you will need to install zoom.
  • 01:29Open the Google Play store on your
  • 01:31Android device by tapping on the icon.
  • 01:34Note due to Zoom's popularity,
  • 01:36you may have the app already
  • 01:39downloaded onto your device.
  • 01:41If zoom is already installed on your device,
  • 01:44you do not need to download and
  • 01:47install the Zoom app again.
  • 01:49Tap the search window and type zoom.
  • 01:53Look for the result entitled
  • 01:55Zoom cloud meetings.
  • 01:56It should appear at the top.
  • 01:59Tap the install icon to download zoom.
  • 02:04Once you have downloaded zoom,
  • 02:05you do not need to open the app.
  • 02:07When you connect to your video visit.
  • 02:10My chart will open zoom for you.
  • 02:14Now that my chart and zoom
  • 02:16are installed on your device,
  • 02:17tap the my chart app to proceed.
  • 02:22Tap accept to accept the
  • 02:25end user license agreement.
  • 02:27My chart will ask you if you wish to
  • 02:30allow my chart to access your location.
  • 02:33Choose allow while using app.
  • 02:36The Mychart app will recognize your
  • 02:38location and present you with a list of
  • 02:41participating healthcare organizations
  • 02:43and alphabetical order to find Yale,
  • 02:45New Haven Health and Yale Medicine.
  • 02:47Scroll down.
  • 02:50Tap Yale New Haven health slash
  • 02:52Yale University.
  • 02:53My chart to appropriately configure my chart.
  • 02:58The Mychart app will alert you that you
  • 03:00can switch organizations in the future
  • 03:02by using the switch organizations,
  • 03:04but and this may be useful if you
  • 03:06see a provider in a different
  • 03:09organization that uses my chart tap OK.
  • 03:12Got it to proceed.
  • 03:14Log into my chart by entering
  • 03:17your username and password.
  • 03:18Then tap the login button.
  • 03:20If you forgot your username or password,
  • 03:23tap the forgot password or username text.
  • 03:27If you do not have a mychart account,
  • 03:30either contact your
  • 03:31provider or tap sign up now.
  • 03:35Once you have logged into my chart,
  • 03:37you will be asked if you want my
  • 03:39chart to send you notifications.
  • 03:41Select the option that best suits your needs.
  • 03:46Next, my chart will ask you if you
  • 03:48wish to login faster using a passcode,
  • 03:50select the option that best works for you.
  • 03:55Lastly, my chart will notify you of
  • 03:58your notification status and alert
  • 04:00you to any messages, appointments
  • 04:01and other reminders you may have.
  • 04:04Simply tap away from the
  • 04:06popup window to continue.
  • 04:08You will see that my chart
  • 04:10has a number of options,
  • 04:12including test results,
  • 04:13messages, and billing.
  • 04:14Since we are focused on getting you
  • 04:16connected to a video visit appointment,
  • 04:18tap on appointments.
  • 04:21My chart will show your scheduled video
  • 04:24visit along with any additional visits
  • 04:26that have been scheduled in the past.
  • 04:28Please note if you do not
  • 04:30have a video visit scheduled,
  • 04:32please call your provider's office
  • 04:34and schedule a video visit as you
  • 04:37normally would a regular visit.
  • 04:39Complete the check in process
  • 04:41by tapping the check in.
  • 04:42You will be required to sign
  • 04:45any outstanding documents,
  • 04:46including the Tele health consent.
  • 04:48After you have finished the check in process,
  • 04:51you will receive a message that
  • 04:53your E check-in is complete.
  • 04:55Tap the appointment before
  • 04:56you begin your visit.
  • 04:58Consider the following.
  • 04:59Make sure you are in an area with
  • 05:02a strong network or Wi-Fi signal.
  • 05:05Turn on your microphone and speakers.
  • 05:07Turn off your Bluetooth unless it
  • 05:09is being used for a medical device.
  • 05:12Close any open additional apps.
  • 05:16At the bottom of your screen you
  • 05:18will see the begin visit bar.
  • 05:20When you're ready to start your video visit,
  • 05:23tap begin, visit.
  • 05:25When you click begin visit,
  • 05:27zoom will automatically launch.
  • 05:29If you have joined the meeting before
  • 05:31your provider has started the meeting,
  • 05:34you will be placed in
  • 05:35the virtual waiting room.
  • 05:37Please be patient while your
  • 05:39provider starts the meeting.
  • 05:41If your provider has joined already,
  • 05:43your video visit will begin.
  • 05:47Once your provider has started the visit,
  • 05:50a pop-up will appear requesting
  • 05:52access to the camera tap got it?
  • 05:55Note if you do not tap got it,
  • 05:58your video visit will not function properly.
  • 06:02A pop-up will appear requesting
  • 06:05additional access to the camera.
  • 06:07Tap allow.
  • 06:08No,
  • 06:08if you do not tap allow your video
  • 06:12visit will not function properly.
  • 06:15The video preview screen will appear.
  • 06:18Get ready to smile,
  • 06:19Tap join with video to start your video.
  • 06:22Visit with your provider.
  • 06:24Note if you do not tap join with video,
  • 06:28you will remain on the video preview screen.
  • 06:30You must tap the join with video
  • 06:34button in order to join the visit.
  • 06:37Your provider will be notified that
  • 06:39you have joined the video visit.
  • 06:41You will see the screen until your
  • 06:43provider has admitted you to the video visit.
  • 06:50A pop-up will appear requesting what type
  • 06:53of audio to use during the video visit.
  • 06:56Tap call over Internet to continue.
  • 06:59Note if you do not tap call over Internet,
  • 07:02your video visit will not function properly.
  • 07:06A pop-up will appear requesting access
  • 07:09for zoom to record audio tap allow.
  • 07:12Note if you do not tap allow,
  • 07:15your video visit will not function properly.
  • 07:18However, video visits will
  • 07:20not be recorded nor stored.
  • 07:23You are now joined to the video visit
  • 07:25when the provider joins the video visit,
  • 07:28you will see yourself in the bottom
  • 07:30right hand corner of the screen.
  • 07:33Once you are joined to the video visit,
  • 07:35please speak directly into the
  • 07:37microphone and be aware of the
  • 07:40direction the camera is facing.
  • 07:42If you find it hard to hear your provider,
  • 07:44try turning up the volume on your device.
  • 07:48You may disable your video or
  • 07:50mute your microphone by tapping
  • 07:52on the controls at the bottom.
  • 07:54Once the visit has concluded,
  • 07:56you may tap the red leave button
  • 07:59in the upper right hand corner.
  • 08:01Once you have disconnected,
  • 08:03you may close your browser
  • 08:06window and the Mychart app.
