2025 ASCO Conquer Cancer Grants & Awards Announced

The leadership of Yale Cancer Center is proud to announce two faculty members and five fellows have been named recipients of awards from Conquer Cancer in advance of the 2025 ASCO annual meeting.

The mission of the Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation Grants & Awards Program, is to accelerate breakthroughs in lifesaving research and empower people everywhere to conquer cancer. Their goal is to build a pipeline of future leaders and to support and encourage excellence in clinical and translational research in the field of oncology.

2025 Career Development Awards

Career Development Awards provide research funding to clinical investigators who have received their initial faculty appointment, as they work to establish an independent clinical cancer research program.

  • Benjamin Lu, MD, PhD, Instructor in Medicine (Medical Oncology)
  • Mariya Rozenblit, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology)

2025 Young Investigator Awards (YIA)

The YIA provides research funding to promising young physicians during the final years of training to support the transition to a faculty appointment and to encourage quality research in clinical oncology.

  • Devora Isseroff, MD, Clinical Fellow: “Comparison of the genomic architecture of synchronous and asynchronous metastases of breast cancer”
  • Amin Nassar, MD, Clinical Fellow: “Unlocking the Clinical and Molecular Roadmap of Checkpoint Inhibitor Pneumonitis”

Gianni Bonadonna Breast Cancer Research Fellowship

The Gianni Bonadonna Breast Cancer Research Fellowship honors the achievements of Gianni Bonadonna, MD, a pioneer in the field of breast cancer research and Hodgkin’s Disease.

  • Nicole Casasanta, Clinical Fellow: “HER2/TROP2 PARADIGM: Evaluation of HER2 and TROP2 Quantitative Immunofluorescence (QIF) in Previously Treated Patients with HER2-Low, HER2-Ultralow (0+), and HER2-0 Advanced Breast Cancer"

2025 Merit Awards

Merit Awards recognize high-quality abstracts submitted to the ASCO Annual Meeting for their scientific merit.

  • Rebecca Forman, MD, Clinical Fellow: “Personalized frailty risk assessment in long-term survivors of colorectal cancer”
  • Faiza Yasin, MD, MHS, Clinical Fellow: “Frequency and impact of a genome-wide homologous recombination deficiency signature (HRDsig+) on the genomic landscape of advanced colorectal cancer (CRC)”
