Dr. Kanowitz is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine (Medical Oncology) and cares for patients with breast cancer at the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in Torrington. She is also Medical Director of the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in North Haven. Dr. Kanowitz received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed her fellowship in medical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Before joining Yale in 2016, Dr. Kanowitz served as the medical director for oncology services at Bristol Hospital Cancer Care Center and served as the breast program leader for Presbyterian Oncology Group in Albuquerque, NM and at Mid-Hudson Hematology/Oncology where she established their accredited breast cancer program. Dr. Kanowitz’s patients have praised her warmth, concern, and humor and greatly appreciate her commitment to personalized care.
