Sudhanshu Mulay, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology and Hematology) and cares for patients with a wide range of benign hematologic disorders at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Waterbury. Conditions he treats include, but are not limited to, thrombosis, anemia, bleeding and platelet disorders, and other hematological conditions and rare diseases.
Dr. Mulay received his medical degree from BJ MedicalCollege in Pune, India. He completed his residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and two fellowships; one in hematology/oncology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and one in transfusion medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Prior to joining Yale, Dr. Mulay was the Medical Director for the Anticoagulation Service at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford. In 2023, he received the Outstanding Physician Award from Lea’s Foundation for Leukemia Research. The award recognizes a physician who provides compassionate patient care and outstanding leadership in building a world-class hematology program. His research interests are in thrombosis and anticoagulation management.
