Neuro-Oncologist Joins Chênevert Family Brain Tumor Center

Mary Barden, MD, joins Yale Cancer Center in the division of Neuro-Oncology as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology (Neuro-Oncology). Dr. Barden cares for patients as part of the Chênevert Family Brain Tumor Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. Her clinical focus is on primary tumors such as glioma and primary CNS lymphoma, with a special interest in glioblastoma both in improving survival outcomes and optimizing quality of life.

Dr. Barden received her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine and completed her residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, during which time she received the Gilbert Glaser Award. The award is presented to the PGY-3 resident who has contributed the most to the residency team. She also completed her fellowship in Neuro-Oncology at Yale and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her goal in caring for patients is to work with them and their families to select a therapeutic plan that best suits their needs, including enrollment of eligible patients in clinical trials.
