Patricia Peter Named Instructor in Internal Medicine/Endocrinology

September 22, 2016

Please join us in celebrating Dr. Patricia Peter’s transition from Fellow to Instructor in Internal Medicine (Endocrinology). Since July, Dr. Peter has been seeing patients in the Smilow Endocrine Neoplasia Clinic, the Yale Diabetes Center, and the Yale Health Plan.

Dr. Peter received her undergraduate degree from Columbia and medical degree from Yale, completed her internal medicine residency at Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and spent the past two years here at Yale University in the Endocrinology Fellowship Program. Her dedication to endocrinology is legendary within the section, and her turn as Jeopardy host last spring was sublime. Dr. Peter is a skilled diagnostician, an engaging educator, and an evolving researcher with an impressive publication list for a junior faculty member. Her recent first-author commentary in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, “The Rising Cost of Diabetes Care in the USA,” is both timely and informative, and her oral presentation at the American Diabetes Association annual meeting, "The Natural History of Impaired Fasting Glucose in Older Adults," was well-received. Dr. Peter looks forward to continuing her work at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale School of Medicine and is excited to begin her academic career at Yale University.
