Vikram Jairam, MD and Kevin Du, MD, PhD, MSCI, joined Yale Cancer Center and the Department of Therapeutic Radiology as Assistant Professor of Clinical Therapeutic Radiology and Associate Professor of Therapeutic Radiology, respectively. Dr. Jairam sees patients at the Smilow Care Centers in Waterford and Hamden, and in New Haven. Dr. Du cares for patients as part of the Smilow Radiation Oncology team in Trumbull, CT.
Dr. Vikram Jairam received his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, where he won the Abraham White Prize for outstanding medical school thesis. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at Yale, where he served as Chief Resident. His current research focus is on aspects of cancer care that affect quality of life and survivorship. He has conducted multiple observational studies investigating high-risk opioid use among cancer survivors as well as opioid prescribing behavior among oncologists. In 2021 he received the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award which recognizes outstanding residents and fellows who’ve advanced radiologic research.
Dr. Kevin Du joined Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital from NYU Langone Health in NYC, where he was an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology and Director of the Residency Program in Radiation Oncology. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2006, where he also received his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2003. More recently, he received a master’s degree in Clinical Investigation from the New York University School of Medicine and has led numerous clinical trials at NYU. His research interests include medical education and gastrointestinal malignancies.
