Reunion 2019: Class of 2004 15th Reunion report

June 14, 2019

Good times were had reuniting with the 2004 Yale Med Class over reunion weekend. The weekend got off to an early start late Friday night as a number of alumni gathered at Bar to kickstart the weekend off at a familiar location. From there, many woke up early Saturday morning to listen to Dr. Richard Awdeh speaking as part of YSM alumni panel on the “Paths we’ve traveled within medicine.” Ricky discussed transitioning from a clinical practice to focus on entrepreneurial work with both his medical device company Cirle founded in 2010 and more recently his patient education platform CheckedUp (http://www.checkedup.com). Following Dr. Awdeh’s talk, family and friends were able to catch up at Harkness where our kids (many dressed in Arsenal attire) enjoyed running around our old stomping grounds. The evening concluded with dinner at Elm City Social where Aversa, Blair, Covey, Forrest, Griffith, Catalanotti, Countryman, Fernandez, Golding, Lucas, Mariwalla, Simon, and Springer enjoyed catching up, sharing updates about careers and families, before many in the group headed out to the local karaoke establishment where it was unanimously decided that the performance delivered by the YSM 2004 class during our second-year show was clearly the pinnacle of our preforming careers. We were able to get Cynthia Guzman Covey out to join in the late-night karaoke session and Ricky was able to give a timely shout out to the unofficial 2004 class DJ (Nick) who was in attendance during his panel discussion! Hope to see everyone back in New Haven in 2024.
