Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center Recognized as Outstanding Oncology Program

Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center have been highlighted by Becker's Hospital Review for accelerating innovation, discovery, and greater access to care. Only 100 hospitals and health systems were featured by Becker’s as premier providers of cancer care across the nation. The list features oncology programs that are providing novel treatments, conducting cutting-edge research, holding clinical trials, and upholding safety designations to improve patient outcomes.

Among the standouts for Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center are the collaborations between scientists and physicians as the largest provider of cancer care in the state of Connecticut. Also highlighted were initiatives to minimize mortality from all types of cancer, reduce disruption to patient's lives, and eliminate barriers to cancer care. Recent accomplishments that were considered included the opening of an Early Onset Cancer Program for patients diagnosed between 18 and 49 years old, as well as Yale Cancer Center’s Center for Community Engagement and Health Equity.
