Smilow Cancer Hospital Welcomes Breast Surgeons

Dr. Tomer Avraham, a reconstructive breast surgeon, recently joined The Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital. Dr. Avraham specializes in all techniques of breast reconstruction, including tissue and implant based techniques, and he has specific training in the use of autologous reconstruction, such as the DIEP flap technique for women
following a mastectomy. He is a board certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Avraham joined Smilow Cancer
Hospital and Yale Cancer Center after completing a microsurgery fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center. He received his undergraduate and Medical Degree from Tufts University and completed his internship and residency training at NYU Langone Medical Center within the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Tristen S. Park joins The Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital as a surgical oncologist specializing in the treatment of breast cancer and breast diseases. Dr. Park is the director of the breast oncology cancer research bank. She also has a translational research focus in breast cancer immunotherapy.

Dr. Park joins Smilow Cancer Hospital after completing a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Duke University. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her Medical Degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed a general surgery residency at Rutgers University, and a combined surgical oncology research fellowship and a clinical immunotherapy fellowship at the Surgery Branch of the National Cancer Institute.


Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center are pleased to welcome Dr. Danielle Bertoni to its breast surgery team. Dr. Bertoni is a surgical oncologist specializing in the treatment of breast cancer and breast diseases, with particular expertise in nipple-sparing mastectomies. Dr. Bertoni is caring for patients at the Park Avenue Medical Center in Trumbull, along with Dr. Mary Pronovost.

Dr. Bertoni is a graduate of Boston University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School. She received her MPH from Boston University School of Public Health. Dr. Bertoni completed her internship, residency, and a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Stanford University, in Stanford, California.
