Dr. Ronald Salem specializes in the care of patients with pancreas, hepatobiliary and neuroendocrine tumors, and is a leader in the management of pancreatic cysts. He is one of the few surgeons in Connecticut with a high volume practice performing the Whipple procedure for pancreatic cancer with outcomes in the top 10% of the country in a national surgical database. Dr. Khan is an NIH-funded surgeon-scientist who seeks to use modern molecular biology to improve care for patients with gastrointestinal cancers. His lab uses state of the art scientific technology to identify patients with liver metastases who will benefit from potentially curative surgical resections. Dr. Khan has been recognized for excellence in both clinical care and research in oncology and has consistently been rated a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly.
