Yale Cancer Center Communications Receive International Recognition

The Yale Cancer Center Public Affairs and Communications Office has received two Hermes Creative Awards in recognition of their initiatives for Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital. Their 2023 annual report Breakthroughs, A Commitment to Community, was honored with a Platinum Award and their Yale Cancer Answers radio show and podcast was recognized with an Honorable Mention.

Breakthroughs is published annually to highlight cancer research and clinical advances from Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital. The Platinum Award recognizes the publication’s writing and creative design showcasing the mission of Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center to diminish cancer disparities and dedicate resources to address the challenges that communities across the state of Connecticut, and the nation, face accessing cancer care. Entries evaluated and receiving scores between 90-100 points received Platinum Awards. Read the full issue>>

Yale Cancer Answers airs every Sunday on Connecticut Public Radio at 7:30PM and provides the most up-to-date information on cancer screening, detection, treatment, and prevention. Topics cover a wide variety and are focused on sharing recent advances and options for treatment with the broader community. The program is also available on iTunes as a weekly podcast. Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding work in the communications industry. They are one of the oldest and largest creative competitions in the world and entries are judged by members of the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), one of the most respected evaluators of creative work in the marketing and communications industry.
