Yale Cancer Center receives $100,000 gift from Lovemark Foundation

November 14, 2018

In an effort to fund more brain tumor patient support, the Lovemark Foundation announced today a donation of $100,000 to Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital.

The Foundation, led by PGA golfer Jamie Lovemark and his wife Tiva, gave the same amount in 2017, following its inaugural fundraising event. Those monies have been used to help provide necessary financial support for patients treated at Smilow Cancer Hospital for all types of brain tumors, allowing them to focus on their care and enjoy quality time with their families, rather than worrying about expenses.

“We are so excited to be able to give back to such a deserving community,” said Tiva Lovemark, president of the Lovemark Foundation. “With the help of Dr. Jennifer Moliterno and her team, we know our donation is going to the people who need it most. Our partnership with Yale is so personal and important to us and we are so happy to make a difference for brain cancer patients and their families.”

“The Lovemark Foundation and what Tiva and Jamie have done has been simply life-altering for our patients,” said Jennifer Moliterno, M.D., chief of Neurosurgical Oncology at Yale Cancer Center and chair of the Lovemark Fund Committee. “I have seen first-hand what a drastic difference their generosity, and the generosity of the PGA community, has had on our patients. They have been able to take a very difficult time for many people and make it significantly better. We are beyond lucky to partner with such exceptional and caring individuals and their Foundation.” The Lovemark Foundation hosts events throughout the year, but their main fundraising event is a ProAm Golf Tournament held in Connecticut in June.
