Yale research shared through 50 presentations at the Annual Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting in Chicago

Scientists and trainees from Yale Cancer Center attended the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting in Chicago, held May 30–June 3, to showcase groundbreaking research from Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital. The largest and most influential gathering of oncology professionals in the world, the ASCO meeting fosters critical connections and collaborations that shape the future of cancer care.

This year’s meeting, themed Driving Knowledge to Action: Building a Better Futin, featured more than 200 sessions. Yale Cancer Center contributed 50 oral, educational, and poster presentations, highlighting significant advances in cancer treatment and care driven by clinical trials and translational research from Smilow Cancer Hospital.

During the meeting, five trainees were honored by the Conquer Cancer Foundation with awards, including Young Investigator Award recipients Devora Isseroff, MD, and Amin Nassar, MD; Merit Award recipients Rebecca Forman, MD, and Faiza Yasin, MD, and Nicole Casasanta, MD, recipient of the Gianni Bonadonna Breast Cancer Research Fellowship. In addition, Benjamin Lu, MD, and Mariya Rozenblit, MD, received prestigious Career Development Awards.

Ian E. Krop, MD, PhD, was honored with the prestigious Gianni Bonadonna Breast Cancer Award, introduced by close friend and colleague Eric Winer, MD.

To relax and reconnect, Yale Cancer Center hosted a reception on Sunday evening for current and former oncology faculty and trainees. The event, hosted by Eric Winer, MD, and Roy Herbst, MD, PhD, offered a welcome break from the fast pace of the ASCO meeting.

ASCO 2026 will take place May 29 - June 2, 2026 in Chicago.
