Yale School of Medicine Cancels Alumni Weekend for Spring 2020

March 27, 2020

Yale School of Medicine Reunions have been canceled for this May due to continuing concerns surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In all decisions being made at this time, the safety and welfare of our alumni are of our utmost concern.

We had hoped this pandemic would abate and allow us to hold reunions as scheduled. The risks and unpredictability inherent in the current outlook, however, are too great to move forward. While this news is unfortunate, we hope it also provides a level of some certainty in otherwise uncertain times.

We trust that you received Dean Brown’s detailed email last Monday and that you are reading Yale News and Yale Today (sent to your email address) in order to gain a better understanding of what Yale is doing to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, including conducting research to diagnose, prevent, and treat it. Please do not hesitate to consult Yale’s COVID-19 information website for additional details about our campus response; this website is updated regularly.

The Office of Alumni Affairs and Development is actively seeking alternatives so that the classes ending in 0 and 5 will have an opportunity to celebrate.
