On March 28, 2025, members of the Hematology Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital gathered at Anthony’s Oceanview in New Haven, CT, to share information presented at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting in December 2024. The ASH Annual Meeting provides the latest hematology advances and research to the global hematology community.
This meeting discussed Classical Hematology with updates on bleeding disorders, thrombosis, and therapies for sickle cell disease; Lymphoma with updates on B Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, T Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and Hodgkin Lymphoma; Multiple Myeloma with updates on newly diagnosed myeloma, MGUS, and smoldering myeloma; Leukemia with updates on Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Myelodysplastic Syndromes, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms, and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia; and Cellular Therapies and Transplant.
A keynote presentation was also given by Edward A. Stadtmauer, MD, entitled, "Keeping Up with Immunotherapy for Myeloma: Moabs, TCEs, and CAR Ts." Dr. Stadtmauer is Director of Hematologic Malignancies Clinical/Translational Research, Division of Hematology/Oncology, and Roseman, Tarte, Harrow, and Shaffer Families' President's Distinguished Professor at Penn Medicine.
