Smilow Multidisciplinary Pain Program
Smilow Multidisciplinary Pain Program
The Smilow Cancer Hospital Multidisciplinary Pain Program is available for patients with complex, difficult-to-manage cancer-related pain. Our multidisciplinary team includes experts from pain medicine, interventional radiology, palliative care, and integrative medicine specialties who provide integrative pain medicine to patients with pain as a result of their cancer treatments, including radiation, chemotherapy, surgery, as well as pain caused by the disease itself.
Our program offers a variety of pain management options that are personalized to fit the needs of individual patients. These options may include oral pain medications and/or interventional procedures, such as trigger point injections and nerve blocks. The pain medicine team also offers implanted pumps that deliver pain medications directly to the source of pain in the body.
