Clinical Fellow; Scientific-Advisor, Medical Oncology
Philippos A. Costa, M.D., is an Oncology fellow at Yale University. He received his medical degree from the Universiade Federal do Vale do Sao Francisco, Brazil, and completed two internal medicine residencies; at the Universidade Federal de Uberlandia and at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. At the University of Miami, he worked under the mentorship of Professor Jonathan Trent. His research focuses on Sarcoma, including angiosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, LMS, GIST, and to a greater degree, desmoid tumors. Dr. Costa is interested in an academic career with a focus on Sarcoma.Clinical Fellow
Tariq Kewan, M.D., is a hematology/oncology fellow at Yale University. He received his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology and completed residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation/Fairview Hospital. Dr. Kewan also pursued a one-year of post-doctoral Translational Hematology/BMT training at Cleveland Clinic where he worked under the mentorship of Professor Jaroslaw Maciejewski. Dr.Kewan is currently completing a master degree in Clinical Research at Ohio State University. His research focuses on understanding the pathophysiology and the molecular features of Myeloid Malignancies. In addition, he is interested in bone marrow failure diseases. Dr. Kewan is interested in an academic career with a focus on Malignant Hematology.Clinical Fellow
Amin Nassar, M.D., is a hematology/oncology fellow at Yale University. He received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut and completed residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Nassar also pursued a two-year postdoctoral training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he worked under the mentorship of Professors Dr. David Kwiatkowski, Dr. Toni Choueiri, and Dr. Matthew Freedman at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on the identification of genomic biomarkers across ancestral populations with cancer. Dr. Nassar currently serves on the editorial board of “Molecular biology reports”, “Translational oncology”, and “Frontiers in Oncology”. He is also one of the Associate Guest editors for the journal “Frontiers in Oncology” and is part of the editorial team for the Elsevier Practice Update Bladder Cancer Center of Excellence. Dr. Nassar is interested in a career as a physician-scientist with a clinical focus in thoracic oncology.Clinical Fellow
Melissa Taylor, MD, MPH is a hematology/oncology fellow at Yale University. She completed medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where she also completed a Master of Public Health with a focus on cancer epidemiology. Dr. Taylor completed Internal Medicine residency and Preventive Medicine and Public Health residency at Emory University. Dr. Taylor has completed research projects in cancer epidemiology, outcomes disparities, and healthcare utilization. Dr. Taylor is interested in social and economic disparities in cancer care, quality improvement, patient outcomes, and cancer prevention and control.
