Yale Center for Molecular Discovery

The Yale Center for Molecular Discovery (YCMD) works with investigators with breakthrough ideas to help them accelerate and broaden the potential for new grants, manuscripts and future partnerships. Led by Yulia Surovtseva, PhD, YCMD seeks to synergize existing technologies and expertise in a manner that expands the quality and breadth of services to investigators in a cost-effective manner.

Mission: To apply YCMD’s technologies and practical experience to basic scientific concepts from Yale research labs for rapid identification of small molecules and genes that modify basic biological processes and disease models.

Barriers to new technology can be daunting, especially those involving sophisticated instrumentation. To help lower the barriers, YCMD streamlines and directs assay development and small molecule and siRNA screening for each project to maximize efficiency of all resources. Each project is tailored to meet the specific needs of the investigators.
