Ariadna Forray, MD, associate professor of psychiatry, has been appointed associate dean and director of the Office for Women in Medicine and Science (OWIMS) effective July 1, 2025.
Forray is a nationally recognized expert in reproductive psychiatry and substance use in perinatal populations and currently serves as director of the Center for Well-being of Women and Mothers at YSM and Yale Medical Director of the ACCESS Mental Health and Substance Use for Moms program.
Since joining the Yale faculty in 2009, Forray has led numerous NIH-funded studies, expanded specialized clinical services, advanced women's mental health education, and co-founded Yale New Haven Health’s nationally recognized adult sickle cell program. Her leadership roles include section chief of Psychological Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, co-director of the Minority Organization for Retention and Expansion (MORE) and co-chair of the Clinician Well-being Council.
In her new role, Forray will work with the YSM community to strengthen mentorship, sponsorship, and institutional policy initiatives, building on the legacy of former OWIMS leaders Cindy Crusto, PhD, and founding director Merle Waxman.
