Meet Dr. Anne Chiang

 .
  • 00:00Hi, my name is Anne Chang.
  • 00:03I'm an associate professor
  • 00:04here at Yale Cancer Center.
  • 00:06I also serve as deputy Chief Medical
  • 00:08Officer and Chief Integration
  • 00:10officer for Smilow Cancer Hospital.
  • 00:12I treat lung cancer patients,
  • 00:14both small cell lung cancer and
  • 00:16non small cell lung cancer.
  • 00:19I chose to go into lung cancer because I
  • 00:22think it is tremendously exciting right now,
  • 00:25both in understanding of the
  • 00:27biology and in the treatments
  • 00:28that we can offer to patients.
  • 00:30Now, I've been here for for 10
  • 00:33years at Yale and at when we
  • 00:35started we did not have a network.
  • 00:38We were only able to treat
  • 00:40patients in New Haven.
  • 00:42Now, 10 years later we have a robust
  • 00:44smilow cancer hospital network.
  • 00:46We're able to treat patients where they live.
  • 00:49We're able to offer them access
  • 00:51to clinical trials and the
  • 00:53most cutting edge technologies.
  • 00:55Again close to home,
  • 00:57close to their support networks,
  • 00:59and my role has really been in
  • 01:02developing this network and helping
  • 01:04to offer quality care and not only
  • 01:07quality care but wrap around services so.
  • 01:11Social work,
  • 01:11nutrition and I think in our next level
  • 01:15the the access to our top notch surgeons,
  • 01:18radiation oncologists,
  • 01:19survivorship programs all along
  • 01:21the continuum of care to our
  • 01:24patients throughout the state.
  • 01:25I just think it's so important to
  • 01:28be able to offer our services to
  • 01:31all of our patients within the state
  • 01:34who are from diverse backgrounds,
  • 01:36and I think that it's important.
  • 01:39It's a. It's certainly a mission.
  • 01:42For Yale Cancer Center now and we
  • 01:44hope to continue that going forward.
