Biography

Leah Tenenbaum, DMin, BCC-PCHAC, is chaplain for the Adult Inpatient Palliative Care Team. Leah is an ordained rabbi and board certified chaplain who pursued her rabbinic studies at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, where she obtained both a Master of Hebrew Letters and a Doctor of Ministry. Prior to joining the YNHH Palliative Care Team in 2019, Leah served as rabbi for 13 years at Temple B'Nai Chaim, in Georgetown, CT; as executive director and senior Jewish chaplain at Yale Hillel; and as pastoral associate for the Palliative Care Team at Bridgeport Hospital. Leah has presented both locally and nationally on the role of faith, spirituality, and advance care planning in palliative care. She recently obtained designation as a Board Certified Chaplain-Palliative Care & Hospice Advanced Certification, one of a select number of chaplains who hold this certification nationally. Leah is passionate about bioethics, spirituality over the trajectory of serious illness, and listening to people’s stories.
