Fall and Letting Go

  • 00:00OK, Good morning everybody.
  • 00:01Thank you so much for joining and
  • 00:04taking the time for yourself to
  • 00:05ground and become present through
  • 00:07guided meditation again on Michelle
  • 00:09Grand license massage therapist,
  • 00:11it's Milo Cancer Hospital.
  • 00:13It's went monitor and privileged
  • 00:15to be with you today.
  • 00:17We're going to open up with just a
  • 00:20breathing exercise about stopping
  • 00:22and then that's going to lead us
  • 00:25into a guided meditation about
  • 00:27letting go and the impact of fall.
  • 00:30The season of fall on our being.
  • 00:33So as we begin,
  • 00:35just bring yourself into
  • 00:36a comfortable position.
  • 00:37Whatever is comfortable for you,
  • 00:39whether it's sitting down,
  • 00:41let straight back on a chair,
  • 00:43feet in a comfortable,
  • 00:44relaxed position, laying down.
  • 00:47You can close your eyes or
  • 00:49just keep them slightly open,
  • 00:51just allowing the spine to left a bit.
  • 00:55Shoulders to soften.
  • 00:58And again
  • 00:59today, for the moment we're
  • 01:01gonna practice simply stopping.
  • 01:04We're going to begin by taking in a
  • 01:07full breath for the count of two.
  • 01:11Anna long breath out for
  • 01:14the count of five.
  • 01:20Ann again. We're gonna take a deep
  • 01:23breath in for the count of two.
  • 01:27I don't long breath
  • 01:29out for the count of five.
  • 01:35Just simply be still an present
  • 01:39in this moment. You may notice
  • 01:43thoughts and bodily sensations
  • 01:45and sounds just noticing what
  • 01:47it's like to be alive and
  • 01:50present in this moment. Again, take
  • 01:55a breath in for the count of two. And
  • 02:01Exhale for the count of five.
  • 02:04If you find your mind wandering somewhere
  • 02:11else. Just play with inviting a sense of
  • 02:15stopping and coming back to the moment.
  • 02:21Again, take a deep breath in for
  • 02:25the count of two. Any Exhale.
  • 02:29For the count of five.
  • 02:35Just keep your eyes closed
  • 02:38and relaxed position.
  • 02:40As we begin a guided meditation for fall.
  • 02:45Each of the seasons has its own particular
  • 02:49energy that represents where nature
  • 02:52is in its recurring cycle of birth,
  • 02:55transformation, and death.
  • 02:57As a being who is closely connected to and
  • 03:01directly affected by the rhythms of nature,
  • 03:04you can capture and use the
  • 03:07energy of the season by moving
  • 03:09through your own seasonal process.
  • 03:12In the months when summer
  • 03:14transitions to fall,
  • 03:15nature prepares for the coming changes
  • 03:18by shedding what it no longer needs.
  • 03:21In many ways, the energy of
  • 03:24winter is synonymous with death,
  • 03:26as foliage appears to die,
  • 03:28the ground freezes over in
  • 03:30the days become darker.
  • 03:32However,
  • 03:33winter really is about hibernation
  • 03:36an the incubation of what will be
  • 03:40renewed again with the coming spring.
  • 03:43In actuality, there is no death,
  • 03:47just a long slow,
  • 03:50deep sleep as Nature's energy changes form.
  • 03:54Fall is the season that prepares
  • 03:57nature for the pruning process,
  • 03:59which will ultimately result in seeds
  • 04:02being planted for the next chapter.
  • 04:05It's a great time to take inventory
  • 04:07of what you need to trim back
  • 04:10or tend to differently to 10
  • 04:12differently for yourself as you
  • 04:14settle inward for the coming months.
  • 04:17Imagine for a moment you're about to begin
  • 04:21a journey of preparing for a long winter.
  • 04:26During this time you know that
  • 04:29the days will be shorter,
  • 04:31the temperature will be colder
  • 04:33and some of your creature comforts
  • 04:36won't be available to you.
  • 04:38You think what do you want to let go of?
  • 04:43What has become too burdensome
  • 04:45or unnecessary on your journey?
  • 04:47At some point it becomes apparent that you
  • 04:51have accumulated far too much baggage.
  • 04:54You've been lugging it around for
  • 04:56far too long, and life feels heavy.
  • 05:00It's time to unload,
  • 05:02drop a few thousand dead leaves
  • 05:05and prune a couple 100 branches.
  • 05:08Like nature,
  • 05:09you need to clear out the thick
  • 05:12brush and rid yourself of things
  • 05:14you been afraid to let go of.
  • 05:17It's time to abandon the rules of
  • 05:20society that seek to convince you
  • 05:22it's not acceptable to speak your
  • 05:24truth to quiet that voice that
  • 05:27convinces you to stay uncomfortably
  • 05:29comfortable right where you are.
  • 05:32Now is a good time to shed anything
  • 05:34that binds you to your indignant and
  • 05:38stubborn ways of sabotaging your dreams.
  • 05:41Without pruning,
  • 05:42there could be no new growth.
  • 05:46During this fall season,
  • 05:48were gonna retreat inward,
  • 05:50light a candle and see what
  • 05:53cobwebs need cleaning.
  • 05:57Continue to settle yourself now
  • 06:00by connecting with your breath,
  • 06:02slowly inhaling through your nose
  • 06:05and Exhale Ng through your mouth.
  • 06:09Continue to feel your body
  • 06:11and mind soften and relax.
  • 06:14Now visualize the scene from nature.
  • 06:17During the fall the weds Browns darker
  • 06:21greens and yellows of the terrain around you.
  • 06:26A cool breeze blowing and the dryness
  • 06:29of the brush branches an Earth.
  • 06:32Now imagine that your body, your breath,
  • 06:35and your emotions and your mind.
  • 06:38You're an extension of nature.
  • 06:40Perhaps you see yourself as a tall Oak tree.
  • 06:44The mist rising off of a Lake at dawn,
  • 06:48or you're simply basking in the
  • 06:51late afternoon sunset or the
  • 06:53Golden glow of a harvest moon.
  • 06:56Be aware that you are about to
  • 06:59embark on an inward journey.
  • 07:02As you prepare to less tahn,
  • 07:04prepare for the budding of and you
  • 07:07you after the winter ice thaws,
  • 07:10dare yourself to dream of the
  • 07:13person you would like to be.
  • 07:15The activities you want to do.
  • 07:19The environment you thrive in most.
  • 07:24The lifestyle you want to have when
  • 07:27you wake up from your deep sleep.
  • 07:29Let your imagination run wild and allow
  • 07:33yourself to see what you would see.
  • 07:36To hear what you would hear and to feel
  • 07:40what you would feel if your dream came true.
  • 07:45Next, notice an area of your life
  • 07:48where there is some heavy NIS.
  • 07:52A burden or an unnecessary load.
  • 07:56Maybe it's physical belongings like an
  • 07:59accumulation of furniture, clothing,
  • 08:01old trinkets, or stacks of papers.
  • 08:05Perhaps your baggage is within the
  • 08:08area of your intimate relationship,
  • 08:11your career,
  • 08:12your health and fitness or family.
  • 08:15Let yourself see where there is an
  • 08:18over accumulation of physical stuff.
  • 08:21Emotional upset, mental challenges,
  • 08:24or spiritual disconnect.
  • 08:27Next we connect with your dream of
  • 08:29what your life could look like.
  • 08:31Feel like an sound like once you
  • 08:34are free of the burdensome weight
  • 08:37that you are carrying.
  • 08:39What would you be doing then that is
  • 08:42different from how you are living now?
  • 08:44Maybe how would your relationships
  • 08:47begin to thrive?
  • 08:48How would your energy levels and mental
  • 08:52clarity be propelling you towards your goals?
  • 08:55Create an internal representation
  • 08:57of visual image of feeling or a
  • 09:01sound of how you your life and your
  • 09:04surroundings could be different.
  • 09:09As you bask in your picture
  • 09:11of how things could be,
  • 09:13ask yourself what qualities you would
  • 09:16need to embrace to be the type of person
  • 09:20who could powerfully catapult yourself
  • 09:22from beneath the weight of what you
  • 09:24now carry to the knew you that awaits.
  • 09:29Do you need to have more compassion
  • 09:32towards yourself and others?
  • 09:34Do you need to listen more
  • 09:37attentively without the need to fix
  • 09:40things or justify your position?
  • 09:43Do you need to cultivate more strength
  • 09:46so you can set and maintain boundaries?
  • 09:50Do you need to be more honest
  • 09:52and find a loving,
  • 09:53yet direct way to speak your truth?
  • 09:57What characteristics would be most
  • 10:00beneficial to acquire so that you
  • 10:03can begin to take your next steps?
  • 10:07Now envisioning the trades are
  • 10:10characteristics that you are
  • 10:12empowering to create change,
  • 10:14ask yourself.
  • 10:15What action steps do I need to take
  • 10:18to feel inspired and motivated
  • 10:21to charge powerfully forward?
  • 10:26What emotions, beliefs,
  • 10:27or behaviors do I need to let go of?
  • 10:30So that I can stop being a victim
  • 10:33and be the person I am meant to be.
  • 10:36Ask your heart for guidance
  • 10:40rather than your intellect.
  • 10:42And allow yourself to hear what
  • 10:45practice you need to cultivate or
  • 10:48what action you need to take to
  • 10:51prune your inner outer world to
  • 10:54clear a path for your next journey.
  • 11:01Go to that thing today.
  • 11:05Tomorrow do the next thing, and so on.
  • 11:09This will help you take charge of your life.
  • 11:14It's a process of letting go
  • 11:17of anything that isn't you.
  • 11:19Toxic relationships, limiting beliefs,
  • 11:21an obstacles that prevent
  • 11:23you from living your dream.
  • 11:26It allows you to take responsibility
  • 11:29for every choice you make and every
  • 11:33action you take or don't take.
  • 11:35Whenever you begin a new path,
  • 11:38anything you haven't cleared out
  • 11:40or brought to completion will
  • 11:42follow you on to the new path.
  • 11:44So now is the time to let go
  • 11:47of anything you need to leave
  • 11:49behind as you begin a new season.
  • 11:52Approach the fall with anticipation
  • 11:56preparation, an excitement.
  • 11:58Observe its energy and watch as it
  • 12:02cyclically moves through its phases,
  • 12:05transitioning from one moment to the next.
  • 12:08Sometimes intensely, and sometimes gently.
  • 12:13Nature moves slowly and deliberately.
  • 12:16Tord Harmony and sustainability.
  • 12:19It intrinsically knows what it needs to do.
  • 12:23And it simply does it.
  • 12:25You can learn a lot by paying
  • 12:28attention and tuning into this
  • 12:30process in your own life.
  • 12:33If you slow down enough
  • 12:37and pay close attention.
  • 12:40We are now with a deep inhalation.
  • 12:48And slowly.
  • 12:51Exhale when you're ready.
  • 12:53You can open your eyes.
  • 12:56Stretch your arms out to the side,
  • 13:00reaching to both sides.
  • 13:03Arms overhead.
  • 13:04And down into prayer pose.
  • 13:10OK, beautiful wonderful all you did.
  • 13:13Excellent excellent work taking the time and
  • 13:16the focus to bring into your consciousness.
  • 13:20How we as humans in our bodies so so amplify
  • 13:25and so resemble on the seasons of nature.
  • 13:29Just listening to our intuitive.
  • 13:33Side are intuitive voice following
  • 13:35that direction and just allowing
  • 13:38nature to take its course an always
  • 13:41remembering that it's important to
  • 13:43stay present and to allow ourselves
  • 13:46to just be the person that we are
  • 13:49letting go of the access and just meet
  • 13:53maintaining our spirit or pure light.
  • 13:56An following our heart always.
  • 13:59So thank you all.
