Omar Al Asad, MD, has been named an Instructor of Clinical Medicine (Medical Oncology) at Yale Cancer Center and cares for patients at the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in Guilford, CT. Dr. Al Asad received his Medical Degree from the University of Jordan, and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he received both an Outstanding Medical Oncology Fellow Award and a Resident of the Year Award.
For the past three years, Dr. Al Asad has served as a Hematology/Oncology Hospitalist at Smilow Cancer Hospital caring for patients in New Haven. Dr. Al Asad will focus his practice on prostate and urologic cancer care, lung cancer, and benign hematology. He joins a team of medical oncologists and hematologists in Guilford providing expert cancer care and treatment to patients and families along the Connecticut Shoreline and surrounding communities.
