Cancer has taught me…the importance of support groups and how beneficial they can be in the recovery process. I have learned so much from attending the support groups at Smilow, and hope that in turn, people have learned from my story. We not only share our experience with cancer, but other obstacles we face in life as well. Being a two-time cancer survivor (prostate and kidney), it has helped me so much to hear what other people have gone through and resources they have taken advantage of; things I would never have known about otherwise.
