Asian Faculty Association at Yale Elects Nita Ahuja as Board Member

Nita Ahuja, MD, MBA, has been elected to the board of the new Asian Faculty Association at Yale.

The Asian Faculty Association offers a forum to foster diversity and inclusion at Yale. Founded in 2023, the Asian Faculty Association supports the advancement of aspiring leaders, including a growing community of Asian students and faculty members, who may face unique challenges.

As a board member, Dr. Ahuja will help elevate the perspectives and experiences of different Asian ethnic groups, foster academic and cultural exchange between Yale University and other institutions, and provide resources to ensure long-term career growth.

Dr. Ahuja is the fifteenth chair of the Department of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine and chief of surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital. She is the William H. Carmalt Professor of Surgery and the Associate Cancer Center Director for Surgery at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven Health.
